Social media participation is increasingly becoming a cornerstone of communications and outreach strategies. But how do you get started? Where should you focus your efforts? This webinar will introduce you to the world of social media: the platforms and who uses them, how to use these platforms to build relationships and partnerships, and how to fit social networking in to your already busy day. You’ll learn about the benefits of social networking for LELs and the resources and support that highway safety offices and NHTSA can provide.

Plus, if you’re completely new to social networking and don’t know how to tweet or create a Facebook page, stick around to the end! The session wrapped up with a step-by-step training on how to create a Twitter account and Facebook page, how to post articles and photos, and how to re-share and re-tweet other peoples’ content.

Panelists:

  • Lisa Flowers, Community Relations / Public Information Officer, Delaware Office of Highway Safety
  • Janice Martinez, District 7 Law Enforcement Liaison, Florida Law Enforcement Liaison Program
