The National Park Service (NPS) Division of Law Enforcement, Security and Emergency Services, has established a new impaired driving enforcement program in coordination with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

John Hughes has been selected as NHTSA’s federal law enforcement liaison for this program. Utilizing a grant from the Department of Transportation, Hughes will establish a collaborative initiative between the NPS and NHTSA to maximize the efforts of both agencies, given the thousands of miles of federal highways situated on park lands.
