NLELP May Webinar: The Road to Zero: Collaborating with Law Enforcement to Prevent Deaths on our Roadways
May 17 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Wednesday, May 17, 2017
3:00–4:00 p.m. EDT
Road to Zero (RTZ) is a collaborative effort of more than 250 organizations focused on ending traffic fatalities on our roadways within 30 years. The National Safety Council (NSC) leads the initiative as a partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
This webinar will discuss how RTZ plans to achieve success by requiring meaningful collaboration across disciplines and traditional boundaries; a strong sense of urgency and accountability; and stepped-up action, including the willingness to consider new, innovative and pioneering approaches to stop the upward trend of those dying on our roadways and eliminate traffic fatalities by 2050.
Learn how RTZ will collaborate with law enforcement to develop priorities and encourage partners/stakeholders to take action. The webinar will share examples from pilot programs and local initiatives that involve multiple agencies, the media, and even some non-traditional partners to change behavior and public values.
